10 x 15-20 minute, jam-packed, evidence-based theory sessions embedded with health research.

Example 30-minute lesson plans that can be downloaded and used immediately or as a base for further creativity.

This ten part online program provides Educators with evidence based strategies to create their own Healthy Moves Dance programs to optimise health and wellbeing outcomes for students. ​

Keep your students engaged, this workshop series offers in-person student workshops which have been co-designed by Allied Health professionals and Creative Artists to maximise engagement while delivering health benefits. Choose from Street Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary or Robot Dancing.

Choose your workshops series or mix and match

1. Hip Hop
Introduce young children to the world of Hip Hop through fun, rhythmic movements that encourage self-expression and physical coordination. This high-energy workshop getting into aerobic physical activity zones, develops gross motor skills, and builds confidence as children explore the beats and movements Hip Hop.

2. Street Jazz
Street Jazz not only let's children vibe along to their favourite musical sing-alongs but provides a high energy environment that targets hitting physical activity guidelines while embracing storytelling and emotional expression and syncing lyrics to beat. This is a dance journey demonstrating how dance lessons can be crafted to deliver physical, social and cognitive health benefits!

3. Robot Dancing
Where rhythm, balance and co-ordination come together in a super fun and collaborative way. This session is designed to focus on social connectedness, syncing beat to movement and targeting the elements of dance that promote executive functioning. Be prepared for lots of laughs as we become one with the our inner Robot!​

4. Contemporary Workshop
Explore the fluid and creative movements of Contemporary dance, encouraging children to connect their bodies and emotions. Students will explore improvisation, identifying and exploring emotions through dance, physical coordination, and self-expression. We learn to come back into our bodies, relax and release through the power of dance.


We design and deliver evidence based programs: Learn more about the health and learning benefits of Dancing in the Early Years.
Preschoolers should be physically active for at least 3 hours per day, with at least one of those hours being ‘energetic play’ which includes Dancing (Australian Government)
Physical movement coupled with novel pretend imagery can help with attention, speed, retention, and enjoyment of learning (Sacha & Ross, 2006)
Dance is a feasible alternative to traditional physical activity and dance provides physiological and psychological benefits to healthy and medically compromised children and youth populations (Tao. D et al 2022).
Movement and music experiences integrated within a preschool curriculum can also reinforce math and logic concepts through rhythm and patterns of beat and tempo (Shilling, 2002).
Physical activity provides young children physical and mental health benefits and delivers preventative effects for chronic disease (WHO, 2020).
In young people, dance appears to be superior to other exercise in lessening the impact of somatization. (Yan, et al 2024).
Dance movement has been demonstrated to improve children’s life functioning, duration of sleep, emotional and behavioural difficulties when used in a therapeutic contexts in children (Moula et al, 2022)
A preschool movement through dance program is a way to open the door to numerous benefits and opportunities. Creating new contexts for learning enrich young children and offer them different opportunities to understand and negotiate the world (Lorenzo-Lasa et al 2007)

Meet your Facilitator
Carmen
With a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) and over 10 years of experience as a Workplace Trainer, Carmen brings a unique blend of expertise in physical health and injury prevention to our kindy dance programs. As a Registered Physiotherapist with AHPRA, her deep understanding of biomechanics, movement, and overall well-being ensures that this program is grounded in safe, effective practices that promote both physical and mental health. Carmen holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and has led corporate wellness and injury prevention programs for over a decade, providing her with a strong foundation in developing and delivering engaging and educational content. Having three young children of her own, 6, 4 and 2 Carmen noticed an opportunity to design and deliver, engaging programs that empower young people with the evidence based health benefits of the creative arts including Dance. As a movement expert, Carmen has collaborated with diverse, creative artists to design and lead extra-curricular dance programs for school-aged children, blending her health-focused background with artistic expression. The Early Education dance program series is designed is to not only foster creativity and movement in young children aged 3-5 but also to align with health-focused principles that support their long-term physical development and well-being
